Our Daily Bread Food Bank in Whitney, Texas, servesĀ 300 families with almost 700 family members by providing over 17,000 pounds of food each month.

Churches in Whitney along with the local community provide food and funds for the Food Bank. No funding is received from the government.

All workers are unpaid volunteers. Daily operations are provided by local community members who perform office and warehouse jobs to keep the Food Bank running.

Our Daily Bread Food Bank is part of Lake Whitney Ministerial Alliance (LWMA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of people in the Lake Whitney area, including Aquilla, Blum and Whitney.

Need assistance with putting food on the table for you and your family? We can help.

Our goal is to provide one week's worth of food to all of our clients every 30 days and we will always serve new clients the first time they come to the food bank.

What Do We Do?

The history of Our Daily Bread Food Bank dates back to 1985 when it was established at Fort Graham Baptist Church.

Today, we serve over 300 families with three different programs - a monthly program, a weekend students program, and a summer students program.



Hunger in Whitney

One out of every four Whitney residents lives in poverty according to federal standards. Whitney has a dramatically higher than average percentage of residents below the poverty level when compared to the rest of Texas.

According to a 2019 survey of Whitney Food Bank clients

How Can You Help?

Volunteer your time and skills to support the Food Bank. All services are provided by unpaid local volunteers. The Whitney Food Bank has no paid employees.

Donate food or funds that will be used 100% to serve the people in our community.

Organize a church, organization, or community-wide event.

Participate in the Annual Food Drive held each November.
